BAOM INSTRUCTORS
Our Instructors make BAOM successful.
The quality of instruction is mirrored in our extremely high first time pass rate for the state licensing exam. You, like us, expect to receive unequaled instruction, don’t you? That is only possible when your teachers have years of experience in their respective fields and have a love of teaching. Well, ours have that for sure, as well as a knack for making learning enjoyable. Our program is by no means a cake walk but our instructors make it as easy and as pleasurable as possible for you. Think of it as a challenge with a smile.
Our five core instructors are:
Tim Barlen, LMP, C.HT - Reiki, Transformation Technology
Tim, the owner of BAOM has been a Licensed Massage Practitioner for over seven years, a Reiki Instructor for eighteen years and certified hypnotherapist for sixteen years. His in-depth training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming allowed Tim to develop The Transformation Technology Program for massage students and professionals of all fields alike.
Pam Foster, LMP – Director of Education, Massage As A Business
Pam has been a Licensed Massage Practitioner for over twenty years and has been an instructor of Clinical Massage, Business and Ethics for over eleven years. Having managed clinics, worked as an employee as well as owned and operated her own practice, Pam brings extensive knowledge into her teaching Massage As A Business, sharing vital information for the benefit of the students and the profession.
Jack Gilyard, LMP - Massage Theory and Practice, Chair Massage
Jacks first massage training was nearly 30 years ago in Japanese Shiatsu. He draws upon a wide range of experience for teaching, including time as a circus acrobat, film and television stuntman, copy writer and stage performer. Jack, licenced in WA for 10 years, particularly enjoys the social aspect of chair massage, often combining stand up comedy with teaching.
Trevor Rockney, BS Kinesiology, – Kinesiology and A&P
Trevor has brought a depth of knowledge and hands on learning style into our classroom. Let your mind learn the information and then let your hands learn. It just makes sense to learn how to find and identify the body’s muscles through palpation. He is a graduate of BIOM and was an obvious addition to the staff when we had the opening.
Ruth Bare, LMP – Pathology
Ruth has nearly a decade of massage experience focused on treating patients with a variety of different ailments. Ruth has an excitement for her subject that gets transferred to you, her students. You will interact with Ruth’s private clients to gain first hand knowledge of pathologies you are studying. This interaction helps to cement the knowledge you will need as a practicing professional and put you ahead of the game when you graduate.
The varied expertise and teaching experience combined with the instructor’s devotion to your success as an LMP will inspire you to emulate the high standard your instructors bring to their profession. You will have the pleasure of learning from other leaders in the industry as you participate in the Continuing Education series with practicing LMPs.
